MAORI CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Per United Press Association.) WAIROA, August 3. The New Zealand third annual Maori Golf Championships were continued today in fine weather on the local links. For the ladies’ championships the following qualified: Miss A. Tareha, Mesdames G. Ormond, J. Hape, M. Ropiha, Kurupo Tareha, and A. T. Carroll. The following qualified for the ladies’ junior championships: Mesdames Nepe, Hutana, Carter, Rape, Tareha, Wiehman, Misses Tareha, H. Wright, T. Tareha. The following were the best gross scores in the first qualifying round: — Men.—W. Desha 79, T. W. Kinu 79. Best net first round scores.—A. T. Carroll 87—14—73, W. Desha 79 —6—73. Best aggregate for the two qualifying rounds.—W. T. Kuru 70 and 79 —155, J. Grace 80 and 81—161, J. Hape 80 and 70 1 50 TEAMS’ MATCH. The Parker Gold Cup was won by South from North by 20 strokes. YESTERDAY’S RESULTS. The following are the results of today’s play:— Mrs B, Hadfield, Mrs A. Tareha, Mrs M. Ropiha, Mrs Kurupo Tareha. Finalists. —Mrs B. Hadfield and Mrs Kurupo Tareha, The winner was Mrs Kurupo Tareha. Junior Championship Finalists. —Mrs Kapi Tareha, Miss N. Tareha. The winner was Miss Tareha. Men’s Championship. —The following qualified and will meet as follows: Kuru v. Kiingi Winiata, W. Kingston v. W. Desha, J. Tareha v. J. Mapu, K. Tareha v. M, Juru, J. Hape v. J. Carroll, A. Kawhe v. H. Tatere, R. Ropiha v. A. T. Carrol], J. Grace v. W. Puhara. The finals of the men’s championship will be played to-morrow. The next championship meeting will be held at Danncvirke. ■ OTAGO CLUB.
