NO CAMEL FIGHTS IN TURKEY.
It is considered probable that before Ion" some of the more practical suggestions put forward for the protection of animals in Turkey will bo embodied in penal legislation. Public opinion has been changing rapidly on this subject. Camel fighting, for instance, has been, stopped, various places in the province have put an end to cock fighting. .The latter sport has been very popular in Anatolia from time immemorial. Attention has also been drawn to the wilful destruction of wild birds, and it has been pointed out that the marlin will soon disappear unless measures are taken against the . boys who take the eggs.
