POLITICAL UNIFORMS

FORBIDDEN IN SWEDEN

A GOVERNMENT DECREE.

STOCKHOLM, August 2. (Received August 2, at 8 p.m.) The wearing of political uniforms has been prohibited in Sweden. When Nazis held a farewell ceremony at Stockholm the leaders ordered members to wear Swastika armlets, under their jackets. As they returned from headquarters the Nazis were jeered and hissed and the police were obliged to protect them. The Government has decreed that owners of firearms must report to the police. While thus clipping the claws of the Right extremists, the naval authorities insist that the action is directed against Communists, who are allegedly undermining the loyalty of the naval stations.
