STORMS IN ENGLAND
CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE HEAVY RAINFALL IN PARTS. (British Official Wirslesg.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph-Copyright.) RUGBY, August 1. (Received August 2, at 5.5 p.m.) Considerable damage was done yesterday by severe storms, which in many parts of the country were accompanied by heavy downfalls of rain. Shipping in west coast ports suffered much. The gale was still blowing heavily this morning in the North Sea, but the conditions off Cowes had improved, permitting the opening of the Royal Yacht Squadron’s regatta.
