BUSINESS SOLD,
Mr A. Murray, who has been in business as hairdresser and stationer for 31 years, has sold out to Mr F. <7. 0 Connell, who is well known in trotting circles. Mr Murray has been in indifferent health for some time, and now finds it necessary to give up business altogether, but ho intends to reside in Wnikouaiti. ST. JOHN’S CHURCH. A “ mad hatters' ” dance was held last evening in aid of St. Johns thurch. and proved eminently successful, the 1 übUc Hall being filled. The judges, Mrs Dr Thomas (Palmerston) aud Mve 1. Toomey. sen. The judges considered that Mrs Cleare's was the maddest ladies hat and Mr 0. Aiteheson's took the mens pvi;e. Other prize winners were:— Bridge, Miss Orhell and Mr do Latour; enelire. Mrs and Mr Hunulell: lucky spot -Miss Aitehesen and Mr Jackson, and Mrs and Mr do Latour: lucky number. Mr« and Mr Griffiths. During intervals a pianoforte solo was played by Miss Hind, and a violin solo by Mr C. Appleby. Mr Oritilths was M.C.
