Fat Cattle.—-A medium yarding, 214 coming forward. There were very few extra heavy bullocks throughout the yarding, the bulk of the bullocks offered being composed of good quality medium-weights. There was a much larger proportion of prime heifers and cows throughout the yarding than there has been for some time, a number of these being of excellent quality. Prices opened on a par with last week’s rates and the sale was steady throughout. Fat Sheep.—Two thousand one hundred and fifty-three were offered, with only about live truck# of wethers throughput the yarding. There were very few heavy-weights, the bulk being composed of medium-weight wethers. The balance of the yarding was made up of good In prime ewes.' there being some pens of excellent quality. There was a good attendance of buyers, several country butchers being in attendance, and a good demand resulted. Wethers sold a shade firmer than last week, and good butchers’ ewes were going firm at late rates, but medium ewes and inferior declined from Is to Is fid per head.
