NOT NECESSARILY BRAINY HERR HITLER'S DECLARATION (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) BERLIN, July 31. (Received July 31, at 9 p.m.) Addressing thousands of athletes at a Stuttgart festival Herr Hitler lauded muscle before brain. He declared that intellectuals without physical strength and courage were apt to become mere schoolmasters, threatening the nation with decay. The Reich was based on muscle, and strong men were Germany's protectors, not philosophers. REICHSTAG BUILDING FIRE. DEFENCE OF THE ACCUSED. LEIPZIG, July 31. (Received July 31, at 8 p.m.) The Government has instructed Drs Seuffert, Huber and Teichert to defend the Reichstag " incendiaries." These do not include Dr Ehlirs, who informed Sir Stafford Cripps that the Government would not object to his acceptance of Sir Stafford Cripps's offer to undertake the defence. The German public is not aware of Sir Stafford's action because the press refrains from publishing such information or the suggestion that the " incendiaries" will not be fairly tried because no lawyer would dare wholeheartedly to defend them. GERMAN HOLIDAY RESORT. JEWS NOT NOW WELCOME. BERLIN, July 30. (Received July 31, at 10 p.m.) Dr Rust, Minister for Culture, visited the beautiful North Sea holiday resort, Norderney Island, with 2000 Storm Troops and demanded that Norderney decide for Judah or Herr Hitler's banner. The inhabitants decided unanimously for Hitlerism and passed a resolution that Jews would henceforth not be welcome. GERMAN PLANES OVER AUSTRIA. OFFICIAL PROTESTS IGNORED. VIENNA, July 30. (Received July 31, at 10 p.m.) Commenting on the fact that German planes repeatedly fly over Austria and drop leaflets denouncing Dr Dolfuss, despite official protests, the Government organ Reichspost expresses the opinion that Germany is deliberately trying to force Austria to appeal to the league, which Germany would use as propaganda, denouncing Austria for appealing to the international body against her " German brother." »
