THE MISSING COLLIER
SIGNIFICANT DISCOVERY SHIP’S HATCH COVER FOUND. MELBOURNE, July 5. A piece of a ship’s hatch cover which may be a part of the Christina Fraser, was discovered on the beach at Wingan Inlet. Mr D. Allen, who is superintending the search on behalf of the owners, said that the discovery was most significant. Heavy planks broken from the cover suggested that it had been stove in, probably by a heavy sea overwhelming the ship and crashing on the deck.
