HINDUS BURIED ALIVE
FALL OF ROCK IN CAVE CAUSED BY LIGHTNING. CALCUTTA, July 4. Tragedy liofell 20 Hindu pilgrims wlio were bound for tlie famous elirinc of Vishnu, in the Garhwal district, i'hey entered a cave to shelter from a storm. A terrific downpour and a flash of lightning, followed by a full of rock, closed the month of the cave and huiied them alive. The news was brought down by hmmen, who made no attempt at rescue, presumably fearing to interfere with an act of God. Meantime, there was a further landslide, and it is feared that it would be hopeless to attempt to rescue the imprisoned people.
