A light south-east wind and fine but cloudy weather prevailed yesterday. The maximum temperature was 42 degree* The barometer is still high, and registered 30.45 last night. REPORTS FROM NORTHERN CENTRES. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, July 8. Except for a light southerly wind mak» ing the conditions cold, ideal weather prevailed to-day, the sun shining out of an almost cloudless sky. The barometer was steady all day at 30.20 in. WELLINGTON, July 5. A wet and cold southerly was experienced in Wellington to-day. The raia ceased late in the afternoon, but the evening was misty. CHRISTCHURCH. July 5. The weather to-day was sunny, with • light south-west breeze. The maximum temperature was 44.9, and the minimum 30.0. The barometer fell from 30.34 to 30.30.
