THE CECILIA CHOIR
A very interesting recital is promised for Saturday next in Begg’s Salon, when the Cecilia Choir (under the direction ot Miss Meda Paine) will present a programme of modern British art-songs. The singing of this ladies’ choir is of a very high standard, and the chosen numbers should he well worth hearing. 1; artsongs by Elgar,. Armstrong Gibbs, Dame Ethel Smyth, and Dr Markham Lee will bo given, while several well-known singers will present songs which have not previously been heard in Dunedin. These will be drawn from composers .such as Bantock. Tillman, Martin Shaw, Mailin' son, Gibbs, Peel, etc. The choir will have the assistance of Miss Ada Sinclair and Miss Bessie Paine, violinistcs.
