THE GOLDEN HARVEST
TEMPORARY REPAIRS TO BE EFFECTED WELLINGTON TENDER ACCEPTED (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 30. After being in dock for 23 days the work will be commenced to-mor-row of effecting temporary _ repairs to the Golden Harvest, which was damaged when she grounded on Barrett's Rqef on May 30. After an exchange of cablegrams with San Francisco no finality could be reached regarding the work until Mr Q. E. Brown, Australian representative of the Oceanic and Oriental Line (owners of the ship), arrived from Sydney. After a further exchange, it was decided to proceed with temporary repairs. Tenders were received from two Wellington firms, one Auckland, and one Port Chalmers. Ihe tender of William Cable and Co., Ltd., Wellington, was accepted. It is understood that the price wag between £6OOO and £7OOO. The work will take 16 or 17 days.
