Ministerial. . The Minister of Employment (Mr A. Hamilton) will arrive in Dunedin during the week-end and will receive a number of deputations on Monday. Judge Gilfedder was a passenger for Wellington by the through express yesterday. Mr J. H. Duncan left for Christchurch by the through express yesterday. A London Press Association cablegram states that th|? Countess of Orford and Lady Anne Walpole will leave London today for New Zealand by the Rangitane. Mr H. M. Rushworth, the member for the Bay of Islands, who has been delivering a series of addresses in the south, will leave for the north this morning. The appointment of Messrs C. P. Agar, W. C. G. Green, and C. L. Luke as producers’ representatives on the New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board (says a Press Association telegram from Wellington) was gazetted last night. A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that the appointment of Squadron-leader T, M. Wilkes to’be Controller of Civil Aviation, in addition to his duties as Director of Air Services,- was gazetted last night. At a meeting of the congregation of the Roslyn Presbyterian Church, held 6n Wednesday, it was unanimously decided to extend a call to the Rev. H. A. M. Mitchell, 8.A., of Tuapeka Mouth. The matter is being very heartily taken up by members and adherents of the church.
A Press Association telegram from Gisborne states that Mr John Harvey, commissioner Of the Native Land Court, and registrar of the Tairawhiti Maori Land Board, has been appointed a Native Land Court judge, to be stationed at Akaroa.' At the close of the concert held at Mosgiel last evening, Miss Mary Pratt, who had assisted with the programme, was presented with a beautiful floral bouquet, and a gift from the Taieri Pipe Band. The chairman (Mr J. P. Walls) conveyed greetings t-> Miss Pratt from the band members and committee and wished her every success in her career. The audience gave three hearty cheers for Miss Pratt, and Mr Davies replied on her behalf.
