NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Maniototo County Council held in the County Chambers, Naseby, on Wednesday, the 24tn May, 1933, the following Resolution was passed and will be submitted for Confirmation at an Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held in the County Chambers. Naseby, on WEDNESDAY, the Fifth dav of July, 1933, at 11 a.m. _ In pursuance of the powers vested in it by "The Counties Act, 1920," and all amending Acts to the said Act respectively and by virtue of every and any other Act, power or authority enabling it in this behalf the Council of the County of Maniototo doth hereby by Special Order make and ordain the following Bylaw to be in force throughout the said County:— ■ .. ~ The object and purport of the said By-law is as follows: — A. To repeal clauses 229 to 239 both inclusive of the Otago Counties Joint By-law 1927 and to substitute new clauses therefor. B. To provide for the licensing of pedlars and hawkers, and for the registration of such licenses, and defining to What persons the By-laws under this paragraph shall apply; and fixing the sums payable to the County fund for licenses. •C. To prohibit any persons from trading as pedlars or hawkers, not being so licensed. D. Regulating the conduct and providing against the misconduct of such licensed persons. E. To provide penalties for any breaches of the By-law. A full copy of the proposed By-law is deposited at the County Office, Naseby, and will remain open *to the INSPECTION of the Public during office hours until the sth day of JULY, 1933. F. A. County Council will, at a MEETING to be held at Portobello, on THURSDAY, JULY 13, 1933, MAKE and LEVY the undermentioned RATES for the period commencing April 1, 1933, and ending March 31, 1934, viz.:— A GENERAL RATE, under Section 120 of "The Counties Act, T 920," of One Penny (Id) in the £ upon the Capital Value of all Rateable Property within the Otago Heads Riding; of One Penny Farthing (13d) in the £ upon the Capital Value of all Rateable Property within the Ridings of Sandymount, Highchff, Tomahawk, North-East Harbour, Broad Bay, and Portobello. A HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE, under Section 52 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926," of One Farthing (|d) in the £ upon the Capital Value of all Rateable Property within the County. Also the various Annually Recurring Special Rates. The above Rates to be paid in one sum on the Ist day of SEPTEMBER, 1933, at the Office of the Council; Portobello, a REBATE of 5 per centum on the GENERAL RATE to be allowed if paid on or before the 30th day of September, 1933.
