Ministerial. Mr A. B. Ansell, M.P., has received a telegram from the Minister of Employment (Mr A. Hamilton) stating that he will be leaving Wellington next Friday, and will spend Monday and Tuesday of the following week in Dunedin, for the purpose of meeting representatives of the various districts to discuss the question of abolishing “ stand-down ” week in Port Chalmers and Green Island, and in accordance with representations made ,by Mr Ansell, to go into_the matter of increased allocations for relief purposes in the country districts., Mr Maurice Ralph left for Christchurch by the through express on Saturday. Dr Charles F. Sandborn, of Skn Francisco, who has been engaged for the whole of this year on a tour of the Iworld, is due to arrive in New Zealand about the middle of next month. He will visit nlaces'of interest in the North Island, and leave Auckland for Vancouver by the Aorangi on July 25. Mr' E. L. Jones, New Zealand and Australian representative of the publishing firm of Butterworth and Co., Ltd., left Dunedin yesterday for Christchurch.
