" K.," Castle Hill.—The Clutha River flows from Lake Wanaka. At Albert Town It is joined by the Hawea, which is the overflow from Lake Hawea. The river is known as the Clutha until it is joined by the Eawarau River at Cromwell. From thence to the sea it is the Molyneux River. The name Molyneux was given to the river by Captain Cook. It was called Matau by the Maoris and was named Clutha by the Otago Association, after the Gaelic name for the Clyde.
