Every house numbered 13 on an estate nr Hendon, Middlesex, has been sold, Some of the other numbers are in a more advanced state of building, but prospective tenants prefer to wait for a No. 13. Five people named Wilson —not related to each, other —applied for the, same No. 13. “ Thirteens are always the first., to go,” the agent says. ‘ Two tenants took other numbers, and asked f o transfet when the thirteens in the same streets were built. People seem to think 13 is lucky, and certainly all the tenants in thirteen* seem to be prosperous. I have never heard of ill-luck befalling one of the 13 tenants and none has asked to change."
