HARRIERS

NORTHERN. Prior to the running of the road race the Northern Club held a short run from Dundas street. Captain R. MTvinlay and Deputy-captain R. Stephen were in charge. The trail led behind the Gardens, along Pine Hill terrace, and through Woodhaugh to the vicinity of the Ross Creek Reservoir. The Balmacewen Golf Links were crossed and Cannington road reached. The pack here divided, Deputy R. Stephen taking the Juniors ahead down the Bullock track and through the Woodhaugh Gardens. A. Jackson, R. Haley, T. Harkness, and B. Haugh finished well up in the pack, while in the Senior pack under Captain R. M‘K inlay, N. Jepherson and J. Bolitho were prominent. HANOVER BAPTIST HARRIERS. The junior members of the Hanover Baptist Club held a short, training run from the Hanover Street Baptist Church, under Deputy-captains S. A. Gibson and G. M. Meggett. Leaving the church, the runners'proceeded to-the Asylum ground, and then traversed the High School's three-mile cross-country course. The pack finished together. Members then turned for home by way of London street, back to the church, having had an excellent run. there being much competition in view of the club’s Three-mile Junior Championship. MfORNINGTON AND OAMARU. The Mornington and Oamaru Clubs held their annual combined run from St. Paul’s Church, Oamaru, on Saturday. Nineteen Mornington members made the trip, and all thoroughly enjoyed the run, which was led by the respective captains, J. Chirnside and J. Crawford. The pdek ran up Sevcren street, branching oft' across the paddocks, where some excellent harrier country wasi traversed, heading in the direction of Totara. The road was reached at Deborah and followed back to Severn street, where the whistle was blown for the run home, which was contested by the more energetic, and resulted in A. Aitkenhead. (Oamaru) being first, closely followed, by E. Mullin (Mornington). J. Crawford (Oamaru) finished third ahead of a bunch of Mornington runners led by T. Burton and F. Sanders.
