BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY In honour of the fact that yesterday was the birthday of the Prince of Wales flags were flown from the Town Hall and from the various Government buildings in the city. The day was observed as a holiday by the Department of Justice. His Royal Highness was born on June 23, 1894, and was therefore 39 years of age yesterday. DOMINION’S CONGRATULATIONS. (Per United Press Association i AUCKLAND, June 23. The following cablegram was sent by the Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) to the Prince of Wales on the occasion of his birthday.” L “ On behalf of His Majesty’s Government and the people of New Zealand I send your Royal Highness respectful con gratulations and warmest good wishes on the occasion of your birthday.”
