FATAL END TO PARTY

DISCLOSURES AT INQUEST (Per United Press Association.! NEW PLYMOUTH, June 23. The story of a party that ended fatally for one of the participants, D. J. Hepburn, a farm labourer, aged 52, was told at the inquest at Mahoenui to-day. A number of farmers and other residents visited several houses where liquor was consumed. In a garage Hepburn tripped over a tyre and fell. He with others visited another house and the party went to a hut and slept. Hepburn and a man named M‘Kane slept in the same bed and when M'Kane awoke in the morning he found Hepburn dead beside him. The jury returned a verdict that Hepburn died as the result of injuries received in a fall.
