AUSTRALIAN SPRINTER
PROPOSED RACE WITH TOLAN FAILURE OF NEGOTIATIONS. NEW YORK, June 22. (Received June 23, at 7.30 p.m.) The Amateur Athletic Union has informed the Press Association that efforts to arrange a race between the Australian sprinter Robertson and Eddie Tolan, the winner of the 100 yards race at the Olympic Games, have thus far failed. The latter is unwilling, although the union is placing no obstacles in his way. Robertson is continuing his training, and has issued a challenge to race anyone anywhere for 1000 dollars or more a side.
