Covered by water at high tide, a tombstone erected to the memory of the sailor son of a Dublin man has been discovered on the bed of the River Medway, Kent, by George Blackman, a Rochester lighterman. A bronze plate in the shape of an Irish harp says that the stone waa erected to the memory of Sidney Bernard, surgeon of the Royal Navy and son of William Bernard, of Knocklyon House, County Dublin, who died on October 9, 1845, on board H.M.S.
