PUBLICATIONS RECEIVED

A copy of the first issue of a new monthly financial journal, the Investment Review (2s net), has reached ue from the publishers, Financial Publications, Ltd., of Auckland, its purpose being to provide investors in New Zealand and Australia with collated information regarding Government, banking, insurance, and general industrial investment, more particularly as it refers to transactions in this part of the world. It is announced that a special feature in all issues will be mid-monthly publication of selected leading stocks, shares, and debentures on the exchanges of Great Britain and the United States. Contributors to this issue include Professor Belshaw and Mr Hugh C. Jenkins. The June issue of the New Nation Magazine is excellently produced, and contains many illustrated articles of wide interest, their appeal being directed particularly at the fanning communities of Australia and New Zealand. The contributors include Vance Palmer, Frederick Stubbs. F.8.G.5., Flinders Barr, and C. H. Rolleston. In the farming section Mr W. Marsden, the wool expert, discusses the preparation of the fleece for the market. “Fascism and Freemasonry’’ is the second publication sponsored, apparently by the Italian Government, for the purpose of acquainting English-speaking peoples with the policies of the Fascist movement. It is claimed, in justification of the dispersion of Freemasonry in Italy, that the specific aims and work of the Italian organisations were political and subversive.

. In the Widm World for June there is the usual selection of adventure stories, true and fictional, mainly concerned with experiences in the wild places of the earth. The magazine is fully illustrated (from Gordon and Goteh). Articles in the May issue of the Sunday at Home include “ Who Made God. Mother? ” by Ursula Bloom; “The Sin of Unselfishness,” by Professor M'Kenzie; “ Superstitions of Fisher-folk,” by the Rev. H. Lockyer: and a sketch of the Cambridge University Mission.
