CAVERSHAM RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION

The monthly meeting of the Caversham Ratepayers and Householders’ Association was held on Monday evening. Mr T. Milne was in the chair. The town clerk wrote stating that several matters brought up by the association had been included in a list of the year’s allocations, and that the removal of power lines in Valley road to the opposite side of the street would be carried out at an early date. Other matters would be considered by the committees concerned at their next meetings. The secretary was instructed to bring the following matters before the City Council, The condition of the road surface between the tram rails in the South road; the need for a turning point for motors in Peter street; lighting requirements in Asquith street and Upper Sidey street and a tramway time table. Complaints were received about the number of wandering cattle on the higher levels, and it was decided to draw the attention of the authorities to the nuisance. It was also decided to invite members of the Works and Reserves Committee to meet members of the association, and view some of the places which, in the opinion of the association, called for improvement.
