SCHEME TO RETAIN BOARD CABINET SUB-COMMITTEE SET UP. LONDON, June 21. Informal conversations in the Economic Conference lobbies between Britain and the .dominions may result in a compromise in connection with the Ottawa Consultative Committee’s condemnation of the Empire Marketing Board) A Cabinet sub-committee, including the Secretary of State for the Dominions (Mr Thomas), the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr Chamberlain) and the Minister of Agriculture (Major Elliot) will shortly meet to consider a scheme for preserving the Marketing Board and other Imperial institutions in a modified form. The board would probably limit its scope to Britain and the colonies, and would cost £BO.OOO annually.
