FAMOUS POLICE DOG

The Pecs Museum in Hungary will shortly receive a new exhibit in the shape of the stuffed body of Boby Satan of Somogy, the famous police dog of Pecs. During the last 10 years Boby, who was owned by a chief sergeant of police, took a leading part in the criminal investigations in the neighbourhood. On one occasion, when a mysterious double murder with robbery had been committed. Boby took up the scent on the spot and then persisted in jumping at a gendarme who happened to be present. The police were disappointed at Boby’s failure to throw light on the crime, but some time afterward the murderer was identified as the gendarme. When Boby’s master retired and took up work as a private detective Boby became his partner, and in his spare time he proved his superiority over other police dogs in races and other competitions. Beside Boby’s stuffed body his trophies and prizes will be displayed. These include 20 gold and silver medals, 10 champion cups, four statues, a gold cigarette case and three silver cases, a dagger, two silver sugar basfhs, numerous alarm clocks, watches, and diplomas.
