EMBARGO ON FRUIT
COMPLETE REMOVAL UNLIKELY STATEMENT BY AUSTRALIAN REPRESENTATIVE. SYDNEY, June 21. Mr C. Mueller, who has been representing the South Australian fruitgrowers in New Zealand, said there was little likelihood of the total removal of New Zealand’s embargo on Australian fruit, although there was a possibility that it would be lifted in the case of fruit from some, parts of Australia which were known to be free from fruit fly. Mr Mueller added that it was improbable that New Zealand would do anything that was likely to imperil its agreement with the United States.
