“RED CLARA”
DEATH IN MOSCOW ‘ MOSCOW, June 20. The death is announced of Frau Klara Zetlcin. Frau Klara Zctkin was known as “ Red Clara.” As senior member of the German Reichstag in 1932 —she was then 76, infirm, and nearly blind —she presided until the president of the Reichstag was chosen. As she mounted the rostrum the Communists greeted her with shouts of “ Red Front,” and clenched their fists in the Communist salute. She spoke for 43 minutes, slowly and with difficulty. She denounced the Government as the tool of the capitalists and demanded its overthrow. She said she hoped to live to open a German Soviet Congress. As she tottered down the steps the, Communists cried: “Hail, Moscow! ”
