The following Is the official weather foreflit;— A cyclone Is now centred north of Cape Maria Van Diemen, while an anti-cyclone Is located to the east of the South Island. A slight low pressure wave Is passing in the far south. Indications are, for: Winds —South to east north of Westport and Kalkoura; strong to gale force in parts of the far north and north-east: elsewhere moderate, but Increasing; variable south of Westport and Kalkoura, with north to west predominating. Seas—Rough to heavy north of Castlepolnt, and rising elsewhere about and north of Cook Strait; otherwise smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Variable winds and smooth to moderate seas In the southern portion; strong east to south-east, and moderate to rough seas In the northern portion. Weather —Cloudy to overcast In the eastern and northern districts of the North Island: rain north of Auckland and Napier, and extending southwards, more especially on the east coast; some heavy falls between Hawke s Bay and Bay of Plenty: a few light showers also about Foveaux Strait; otherwise fair to fine; temperatures cold, with some fogs and hard frosts In the South Island. The Kiwitea Is to leave Greymouth toward the end of this week for Melbourne. She will then load at Adelaide, Edlthburg, Melbourne, and Hobart, for Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Auckland, and New Plymouth. The tanker Sir Karl Knudsen was due at Wellington yesterday from Singapore. She should arrive &t Lyttelton to-morrow to continue discharging motor spirit. SURREY FROM LIVERPOOL. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal Lins steamer Surrey Is due at Dunedin to-morrow from Liverpool, via northern ports, to discharge Home cargo. She will sail about Tuesday for New Plymouth to complete discharge. FIRE ON STEAMER PAKURA. A telegram from Wellington states that an outbreak of fire occurred on the Richardson Company’s steamer Pakura, of 700 tons, at present laid up In the stream. The tugs Terawhltl and Natone were sent out. and soon quelled it. It Is stated that the fire originated among some refuse amidships. Very little damage was done. NIAGARA AT SYDNEY. Cable advice has been received that the Union Company's liner Niagara, from Vancouver and Auckland, reached Sydney at 6 a.m. on Saturday. She is to leave Sydney to-day for Auckland, Suva, Honolulu, and Vancouver. WAIRUNA TO RECOMMISSION. The Union Company’s steamer Walruna, which has been laid up at Auckland for some time, Is at present undergoing overhaul and survey. She Is to load at Pacific coast ports during September and October for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia. THE GOLDEN HARVEST. Although the American steamer Golden Harvest, which grounded on Barrett’s Beef in the evening of May 30, has been in the Wellington floating dock since June 8, and a survey has been made of the damage, no reply has been received by Messrs Burns, Philp, and Co. to the cable which was sent to San Francisco from New Zealand giving the various tenders which had been received for the repair work. However, word Is expected to be received at any time now as to which, If any, tender Is accepted. Tenders were called for permanent and temporary repairs to the vessel.

She will sail on Saturday for East Coast ports and Auckland. The Union Company advises that the Oplhl has been fixed to load at Dunedin on June 28 for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. The Kinl left Westport on Tuesday morning with a cargo of coal for discharge at Lyttelton, Oamaru, and Dunedin. She Is due here on Sunday, and will sail on Monday night tor A Tho°motor ship Maui Pomare left Wellington on Tuesday for Apia and Niue Island to load fruit for Lyttelton and Wellington. The Federal steamer Cornwall, which has been delayed at Wanganui, Is now duo at Wellington to-day to complete her loading. She is to clear Wellington on Saturday for London, Avonmouth. Liverpool, and Glasgow. The Shaw, Savill Company advises that the Canonesa left Auckland yesterday for Gisborne, Wanganui, Lyttelton, and Wellington to complete her loading. She Is to leave Wellington finally on July ti for Southampton and London,, via Cape Horn. Tlie Karetu, from Newcastle and Sydney, via Fiji, arrived at Auckland on Tuesday. She will leave to-day for Newcastle and Sydney to load again for Fiji and Auckland.
