A PROLIFIC CROP OF TURNIPS AT SOUTH OTAGO.

On the farm owned by Mr Cochran Weir, at The Crescent, Stirling, there is a fine crop of the Superlative variety of turnips. Those shown in our photograph are grown with the new reverted phosphate base turnip mixture, and the yield is estimated to be upwards of 80 tons to the acre. Many of the roots weigh over 401 b. This is part of a large paddock where the sheep have cleaned off the tops. There are other good crops in the district.
