TRANSPORT IN NEPAL.
As there arc no roads between India proper and the State of Nepal, everything has to be carried a certain distance by native labourers. AH' goods going to Nepal are sent by road as far as possible through India towards the border and then transported a distance of approximately 36 miles through a pass in the Himalayan Mountains to the nearest road in Nepal. The illustration shows a car being carried on a framework of logs over exceedingly rough country eu route to Katmandu, the capital of Nepal, by a gang of native labourers.
