SHOT THROUGH THE HEAD
MAN FOUND DEAD. (Special to Daily Times.) PEMBROKE,-June 16. Charles Bentham, aged 28, single, a native of Dunedin, who has been in the Makarora district for the past seven or eight' years working as a buehman and deer culler, was found dead outside his hut near the old sawmill at the head of Makarora Valley on Wednesday afternoon by a Public Works employee. The deceased had been shot through the head. He had a .303 rifle in bis hand with a lanyard attached. The body was brought to Pembroke early this morning by Constable Mannix, where an inquest will be held to-morrow evening.
