The English police were lately investigating the loss of a plant with a single orange globe flower, stated to be worth £2OO and the only one of its kind in the world. It was. missing from the rockery of the Rev. J. F. Anderson, of Great Glen, Leicestershire. Officials of Kew Gardens, Surrey, said that they believed that this Globe plant, os it is called, was stolen by an expert horticulturist. Mr Anderson, however, says he believes it was taken by someone unaware of its value. “ The plant was discovered by my gardener six years ago,” Mr Anderson said. “It is not a personal loss, but a loss to the whole horticultural world.” Thq plant is a natural hybrid and it was intended to exhibit it at the recent Chelsea Flower Show.
