“THREE WISE FOOLS”

DUNEDIN STROLLING PLAYERS The Dunedin Strolling Players gaye another successful presentation of Austin Strong’s amusing play “Three Wise Fools” at the Town Hall Concert Chamber last night. The play is well cast, and the various performers demonstrated that they have given careful attention to the study of their parts. The three leading male characters—the three wise fools —are in the capable hands of Messrs Russell Napier, Douglas Dali, and George Salmond, and they enact their parts in a most commendable manner. Miss Anita Winkel has a heavy task as Sidney Fairchild, the daughter of the woman with whom the elderly trio had once been in love, but in voice, gesture, and mannerisms she quickly demonstrated that she realised the requirements of (he character, and altogether gave a convincing performance. Mr Angus Gorrie makes a manly lover of the adopted _ daughter; Sidney and Messrs Charles Smith, K, W. Griffiths. Gordon Niven. Douglas Skene, Roland Watson. Bert Jones, and Miss Elsie MTeat also interpreted the characters allotted to them in excelent style. The setting and the general production reflect credit on Mr Richard White, and appropriate music is rendered at intervals bv Begg’a Orchestra, under the baton of Mr J. F. Hamburg. The play, the proceeds of which are to be devoted to the Y.M.C.A. funds, will be presented for the last time to-night.
