A remarkable plan to win both wife and fortune was devised by a young Hungarian at Budapest. He tried to persuade the newspapers to eo-operate, but they declined. His plan was to announce the sale of 10,000 tickets to young women in search of a husband. The young man proposed to marry the winner regardless of her age, looks, complexion, weight or social standing. After describing himself, he produced the signatures of two witnesses as a proof of his bona fides. The police forbade the adventure.
