LEG THEORY BOWLING

LONDON PRESS OPINION MARYLEBONE CLUB ATTACKED. LONDON, June 14. Mr Ben Travers, writing in the Star, says:. “The Marylebone Club’s cable exhibits all the dignified and unimpeachable characteristics of Marylebone legislation at their worst. They are prepared to bankrupt counties in defence of what at heart they must know to be unsporting and in denial of what at heart they must know to be true. The barracking protest was justified, but out of place.” The Morning Post says: “We had hoped Marylebone would strive to allay rather than run the risk of again inflaming ill temper. The substance of t its protest may convince cool headed judgment, but the terms in which it is couched are little calculated to heal the breach.” The Mirror says: “Marylebone has given Australia the right answer. Plain talking was needed, and the stern rebuke of barracking ought to do good.”
