RELIEF WORKER’S DEATH An inquest on the body of William Lindsay M‘Leod, a single man, 29 years of age, who was found with his throat cut in the garage at his home at Green Island on Wednesday, was opened at the Morgue yesterday before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., as coroner. The deceased had been engaged in relief work at Green Island.—Evidence of identification was given by Henry Gordon Taylor, brother-in-law of the deceased. Witness stated that the garage door had been found locked, and when it was forced open the body of the deceased had been found. —Dr Edie stated that when he examined the body it appeared that life had been extinct for about two hours. There was an open razor in the deceased’s hand. —Winifred Mary M'Leod, sister of the deceased, said that her brother had appeared to be in his usual health and spirits on the morning of the tragedy.—The coroner returned a verdict that the deceased committed suicide by cutting his throat.
