OUTBREAK OF DISTEMPER
HEAVY MORTALITY IN . CANTERBURY

CHRISTCHURCH, June 14. Distemper among dogs has been very prevalent in Canterbury recently and some sheep farmers have lost their entire teams. The General Committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association decided to-day to ask for reports on the disease from the Department of Agriculture and from its own veterinary surgeons. The committee also decided to ask the county councils to set aside n portion of the proceeds from the sale ot dog licenses towards a fund for combating the disease.
