ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
THE F.A. TROPHY CANTERBURY’S TEAM. (Peh United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 14. The Canterbury Assocation football team to play Otago at Dunedin for the Football Association’s trophy on June 24 is:—S. Cawthcray, G. Sutherland, R. Henderson, A. Sutherland, A. Walker, J. Clements, D. Sutherland, A. Trotter, D. G, Walker, H. Goddard. The full-back has yet to be chosen. When the selection of the Canterbury team was reported to the Canterbury Football Association dissatisfaction arose concerning the omission of W. Ives, who, several members contend, should have been included as inside-left, in place of Trotter. The latter, it was suggested, should replace Goddard as centre-for-ward, and P. Allen should replace Clements as outside-right. 1 After discussion, Mr J. Parry moved that the selection of the team be referred back to the selector. This was carried. The selector (Mr H. G. Shouler) later reported that he had reconsidered the team, but could not improve it in any way.
Mr J. A. Robb was appointed manager.
