AUSTRALIANS DEFEATED LONDON, June 12. In the Doubles Kirkby and Farquharson (South Africa) defeated Crawford and M'Grath (Australia), 6— i, 6—4, 6—4.
The win of the South Africans was due to their superior combination, and also to the Australian pair’s lack of understanding. The Australians led 4—l in the first set, but afterwards the Africans dominated the game, and the Australians never looked like winning. The form of Crawford and M'Grath was only mediocre. The Africans stormed the net at every available opportunity. M'Gratb’s attack lacked punch.
