NEW ZEALANDERS ARRESTED ALLEGED THEFT OF MONEY. ' SYDNEY, June 12. (Received June 12, at 8.5 p.m.) In the City Police Court to-day, John Brooks, aged 80, a labourer, was remanded until June 21 on a charge of having at Whangarei, New Zealand,' stolen £I2OO from George Montague Poyner. - Another man has been arrested on a similar charge, but has not yet come before the court. PARCEL OF SILVER DISCOVERED ON WANGANELLA. SYDNEY, June 12. (Received June 12, at 8.5 p.m.) Detectives who searched the Wanganella on Sunday discovered £3OO worth of silver in a parcel, which will be returned to the Dominion under instructions from the New Zealand police. NO IMPROPER PRACTICES OPERATIONS OF MILK BOARD. SYDNEY, June 12. (Received June 12, at 11.10 p.m.) The Royal Commissioner, Mr Shand, K.C., whose inquiry into the operation of the Milk Board occupied several months, has presented his report, in which he states that he finds no evidence substantiating any improper or corrupt practices. There is no evidence of any undue influence having been used to have certain appointments made to the board. On the contrary, he states, having regard to the'' 1 great difficulties of controlling the milk supply of a great city, the commissioner is satisfied that every member of the board endeavoured honestly and successfully to perform the duties imposed by the Milk Act. CLAIM FOR DAMAGES ACTION AGAINST BOXER PAILS. SYDNEY, June 12. * (Received June 12, at 9.30 p.m.) The suit to recover £3OOO damages for alleged breach of contract brought by the All-British Arena Syndicate against A 1 Foreman, the British lightweight boxer, ended to-day, the jury returning a verdict in favour of the defendant.
