The war atlas used by King Gnstavas Adolphus in the Thirty Years’ War, has been found in the library of the Heidelberg University. Its author was Gerard Mercator. The atlas, which was printed in 1007, is in excellent condition, except for the maps of Germany, which show hard usage. The king’s campaign is marked by,red crosses.
