GROUPS TRANSFERRED Group 350, hitherto employed by the Education Board, is now transferred to the Otago Harbour Board, and will report at 8 a.m. on Monday, at the black hut, Anzac highway bridge. LIME FOR GARDENERS Supplies of lime for men with garden plots have been received by the Garden Committee, and distributed to various portions of the city, where it may be collected by relief workers on application to their own district inspectors. ■> > RAE’S JUNCTION CAMP The men of the Rae’s Junction - camp write cordially thanking Messrs Charles Berg and Co. for refitting a wireless set; the students of Knox College, associated with the Rev, H. WINTER RELIEF FUND APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 9._ The Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe have appointed Sir William _ Hunt and Sir Alexander Roberts, of Wellington, trustees to administer the Governor-Gene-ral’s Winter Relief Fund With a view to augmenting the tuna the Auckland Racing Club has intimated its intention of holding a special race meeting at Ellerslie on Saturday, July 22, devoting the entire proceeds to the object named. ______ MARRIED MEN’S CAMPS' PRINCIPLE OF COMPULSION OPPOSED. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. June '9. Twenty-five delegates, representing business organisations, churches, social workers, local bodies, and relief workers in Christchurch, at a conference to-day, expressed disapproval of any attempt to force married men into camps against their will. The .Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan), who presided, was requested by the conference to secure a definite assurance from the Minister of Employment (Mr A, Hamilton) that no compulsion would be used, and that those married men who would not go into camps would not be penalised by the relief authorities. A further meeting will be held to-day to consider' the Minister’s reply. ,
