AMERICAN PRESBYTERIANS FEATURES OF NEW ,BOOK. -VANCOUVER, May 28. Short joyous hymns fill the new hymn book adopted by the 145th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of the United States. These hymns appear in complete contrast with the Calvanistic dirges of the former ioug-faced days. Four hundred of these' old hymns that the Puritans taught to their children on stormy Sundays have been dropped. _ , Doctrinal hymns are also missing, and in tfieir place hymns of brotherhood and international fellowship are stressed.
