NEW ZEALAND’S AIMS HIGHER PRICE LEVELS (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, June 8. Sir Thomas Wilford says that New Zealand’s goals at the World Conference will be first, higher price levels; secondly, suitable balancing of currencies; and, thirdly, removal of obstacles of trade. He personally was of the opinion that the questions of balance of international i payments, prices, and exchanges will be forced upon the conference at the outset. “SPIRIT OF HOPEFULNESS” AMERICAN DELEGATES ARRIVE, LONDON, June 8. The American delegation to the Economic Conference, numbering, with, their wives and daughters, over 100, has arrived. Mr Hull, the leader, says he has come with a spirit of hopefulness accentuated. by the Anglo-American preliminary conversations, but “We shall not discuss war debts.” THE WAR DEBTS QUESTION NOT TO BE DISCUSSED. LONDON, June 8. Though Mr Hull (American Secretary of State) upon his arrival at Plymouth was emphatic that war debts will not be discussed at the Economic Conference, there are hopes that his visit to Whitehall will facilitate Cabinet’s discussion of the problem. x ITALIAN DELEGATION Y 1 ROME. July 8. The Italian delegation to the conference includes Signor Jung (Minister of Finance), Signor Suyich (Foreign Undersecretary), Signor Asqnini- (Under-secre-tary of Corporations), Signor Pirelli, an industrialist, and Count Ciano, Signor Mussolini’s son-in-law. AMERICAN DEBT POLICY A DECLARATION PROBABLE. NEW YORK, June 9. Jv (Received June 9, at 11.10 p.m.). The Washington correspondent of the New York Times says that it is reported that President Roosevelt will make a declaration on the American policy in respect of debts 'to be published at the opening of thg London Conference on Monday, provided that Congress, which is due to adjourn to-morrow, does so.
