GILLESPIE’S BEACH COMPANY
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —It has recently been published that the directors are carrying out extensive boring tests on the claim. It is rumoured locally that the results are unsatisfactory. An official explanation is required as to why in any circumstances we contributing shareholders are expected to pay the, cost of prospecting work. —I am, etc., ' Contributing Shareholder. [We have made inquiries at the company’s office and are informed that our correspondent is quite wrong in stating that results of recent boring tests have been unsatisfactory. As a matter of fact, boring has not even been started. It is the intention of the directors to carry out boring tests on the claim, just ahead of the present site. This work is expected to start within the next fortnight. In carrying out this further boring the directors are following the practice now in vogue of boring ahead of the dredge. By this means, it is considered, the forthcoming returns can be gauged, and the results checked, to the advantage of all concerned.— Ed. O.D.T.]
