TARIFF REVISION
THE MANUFACTURERS' CASE PLANS FOR PRESENTATION COMPLETED (Per United Pbess Association.; WELLINGTON, May 11. Plans were completed at a meeting >f the executive of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation to-day for th<; presentation of the manufacturers' case before the Tariff Commission. The executive accepted an invitation from th* Importers' Federation to a joint confer ence to discuss tariff and other matters. Representatives from the four centres reported that' progress was being madu in bringing together the firms engaged in the same branch of industry and the degree of co-ordination which had been achieved was unprecedented. It was agreed that the manufacturers were facing the tariff inquiry confident that in the majority of cases the present measure of protection granted to them can be fully justified on the principles embodied in the Ottawa agreement and from other points of view.
