DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB
The monthly meeting of the Dunedm Jockey Club, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs A. C. Hanlon (chairman), L. C. Hazlett, B. S. Irwin, C.N, Draper, F. Tyson, W. F. Edmond, E. 11. Lough, W. J. L. Coughlan, A. N. Smith, and A. Barnett. The following Judicial Committee was appointed for the winter meeting:—Messrs Hanlon, Tyson, Smith, Irwin, and Draper. , It was resolved that the admission charges for the winter meeting should be:—Lawn, 6s; outside, Is 6d; ladies, 2s 6d. The secretary was authorised to engage a band for the winter meeting. Messrs Hanlon and Draper were appointed the club's representatives to conference. .
An employee | of a trainer at Wingatui appeared before the committee for using a track for training purposes which was closed. He admitted the offence, and was warned not to offend again, as any further breach would entail suspension or cancellation of his license. It was resolved to defer the question of classic races for the 1933-34 season until after the June meeting.
The question of the Turf Register was brought before the committee, when it was resolved to advise the publisher that the register in its old form was of great value to the sport, and if the new publication is to be on the same lines the club will contribute to the cost. The harrier clubs were granted the use of Wingatui on May 20 and June 10. The questions of forming a tan track and asphalting were deferred until after the June meeting. Other business of a routine nature was transacted.
