The annual cricket, match between Cadbury Pry Hudson, Ltd., and Coulls, Sommerville, Wilkie, Ltd., was played at Logan Park on Saturday, the latter team proving victorious by an innings and seven runs. Batting first, Cadbury Fry Hudson were all out for 24 runs, Campbell (8) being the only player to make a' stand against the bowling of Breese (four wickets for three runs), Sansora (three for four), Johnson (two for six), and Gregory (one for none). In Coulls, Somerville, Wilkie’s first innings good form was shown by W. Somerville (31 retired), Johnson (15), and Breese (10), but good bowling by M'Farlane (four wickets for 11 runs), Brown (two for 16), and Sanderson (two for 21) brought the innings to a close with the score at 81 runs. Cadbury Fry Hudson made a better stand in their second innings, M'Lean (15) and Brown (12) batting with confidence on a tricky wicket. _ The innings realised 50 runs. The wickets for Coulls, Somerville, Wilkie were shared by W. Somerville (three), Sansom (three), Gregory, Craik, Pearce, and Parker (one each). The assistant masters from the north end primary schools met those from the south end schools on Saturday morning in a cricket match at the Oval. The south end teachers made 138 runs (W. Wallace 53 retired, Cook 36, Booth 15, and Hill 12). North end responded with 82 (Swinton 27, Harrison 19). For south end Salt (two wickets for 14 runs), Wallace, (two for 17), and Aitken (two for 19) bowled well. Bowling for north end, Farquharson took three wickets for 32 rune, Swinton three for 25 and Harrison three for 23. _ A very enjoyable game was played on the Oval between teams representing Dalgety’s store and Glenn’s eleven. Dalgety’s scored 121 (Farquharson 55, Dunne 26). Bowling for Glenn’s eleven, Toms took five wickets for 18 runs, Brookes three for 23. Glenn’s eleven failed to reach their opponents’ total by the narrow margin of 13 runs, scoring 108. For the losers, Toms (32), Clarke (19), Burns (13), and Brookes (10) reached double figures. For the winners, Murray (seven wickets for 36 runs) and Dunne (two for 311 shared the bowling honours. In a friendlyl match the Waterloo Hotel defeated Dalgety’s wool store by 114 runs to 78. For the winners O’Rourke (20), Burgess (20), Neiper (19), and E. Giles (16) compiled the highest scores, while for the losers Beale (19), Thoms (18), and Qlark (13) batted best. The most successful bowlers for the Waterloo Hotel were O’Rourke (1 wicket for 6 runs), Neiper (1 for 6), and Murray (4 for 24) and for Dalgety’s Thoms (3 for 14) and Murray (3 for 23) shared the bowling honours. In a match during the week-end Ocean Beach Hotel was beaten by Kensington Hotel. Ocean Beach Hotel made 38 (Smith 8, Howley 7). Sutherland took 5 wickets for 13 runs and Ferguson 4 for 10. Kensington Hotel bad six wickets down for 76 runs (Eckhoff 27, Timlin 14, Sutherland 10). Copeland, with 2 wickets for 18 runs, was the best bowler for Ocean Beach Hotel. A, friendly game of cricket was played between teams representing the Wharf and Metropolitan Hotels, and resulted in a win for the former, who compiled 106 for three wickets in reply to the Metropolitan’s score of 105. For the winners, Rodgers (46 not out), I. Frost (22 not out), S. Blee (11), S. Frost (10) batted well, while J. Blee (2 wickets for 6 runs), S. Frost (2 for 7). and H. Day ‘2 for 5 bowled well. For the losers Walker scored 27, Puller 19, Proctor 11, and Puller took 2 wickets for 45 runs and N. Kean 1 for 40. The annual cricket match between teams representing the Shell Oil Company and‘the Vacuum Oil Company was played at the Oval, the match resulting in a win for Vacuum Oil Company by 71 runs. Vacuum Oil Company compiled 141 runs (H. Gale 62, E. Williams 17, G. Morton 18, E. Hay 13, L. Palmer 10). Bowling for Shell, Sinclair took five wickets for 23 runs, Riach three for 34, Thomson one for 15, and Shallcross one for 17. Shell .replied -with 70 runs (Campbell 21, Hopkins 14). E. Hay (six wickets for 24 runs), E. Williams (three for 33), A. Jordan (one for 5) bowled well. —“ ■ A cricket match between the Caversham Juvenile and Albion Juvenile M.U.1.0.0.F. Lodges was played at the Stadium. Caversham compiled 61 and 100 (Smith 27 and 59 retired, Parker 16). Waltersdorf bowled well for Albion, who replied with 36 and 81 (Palmer 12, Poiilter 10 and 12, and Waltersdorf 16). Facoory (six wickets in the first innings) and Smith (seven wickets in the second) bowled well for Caversham. Caversham won by 44 runs. A friendly game took place on Saturday on the Asylum Ground between two teams representing No. 1 and No. 2 Districts of the U.A.0.D., the former team being victorious by four runs. For No. 1 the best scores were made by Miller (47), Lethaby (32), and Gray (12), while for No. 2 Smith scored 38, Jones 22, and Mildenhall 16, and M'Farlane 12. Johnson took seven wickets for 27 runs and Jones three for 30. A cricket team from the Grand Hotel met and defeated a team from the, Crown Hotel. Crown Hotel made 135 (Campbell 80 Edmonds 20 not out, Debinett 15). Grand compiled 179 for the loss of nine wickets. (J. Paape 84 retired, Grant 17, T. Collins 12, M'Arthur 11, Donoghue 13 not out.) Bowling for Grand Hotel Corner took four wickets for 22 runs, M Arthur one for 33, Moir one for ,5. For the losers Watt (five wickets for 47 runs), Cahill (one for 22), Debinett (one for 23). Young (one for 13) bowled well.
