The good folk of Glasgow have fallen for the gigot, which is another way of saying that they are making mutton a prominent item in their diet. A leading flesher stated lately that less beef, hom« and imported, was being sold in the city, and the chop and gigot had become very popular I with housewives. The immediate effect,of this is that there.are more smiles among the Scottish sheen farmers.
